In a discussion on climate change, Bill Nye asks the question: “Should we have policies that penalize people for having extra kids in the developed world?” The panelist, Travis Rieder, a bioethicist at Johns Hopkins University, said it should be considered, and Nye asserted “Well, ‘at least consider it’ is like ‘Do it.’”
This is as gross as it is bonkers!
This is not without (disgusting) precedent, as China has a similar policy — which of course means China commits more abortions than any other country in the world. We need to build a culture that value and celebrates life, not treats it like an inconvenience.
