During January, The Halcyon Movement ran a petition asking President Trump to keep the pro-life promises he made during his campaign. So far so good. The President reinstated a ban on U.S. funding for abortions overseas, and his administration seems to have a real desire to protect the unborn. When it comes to religious freedom, however, the President doesn’t seem so willing. President Obama signed an executive order that required religious groups, which includes nonprofit organizations, not discriminate against employees on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity in order to obtain federal contracts. It was widely expected that President Trump would repeal this order — and apparently a draft executive order did just that — at the last minute, however, Trump backed out.
